As a Game Design Intern at DVNC Tech LLC, I had the opportunity to work remotely on Monochrome RPG, a 1920s cartoon adventure game that follows a shy non-binary toon on their journey to build an acting troupe and overcome the perils that they face along the way.

Apartment Building Level Design
When tasked with designing these levels, I received a prompt outlining the requirement of creating a floor plan resembling an office building, while incorporating a speakeasy on the top floor. Although there were some constraints, I had the freedom to exercise my creativity. To ensure a seamless player experience, I carefully considered player flow and metrics, allowing players to easily navigate the environment and comprehend the boundaries of their movement. By balancing the constraints and incorporating player-centric design principles, I aimed to create an engaging and immersive experience for the players.
Unity Implementation
During my tenure as a Game Design Intern at Monochrome RPG, one of my main tasks was the implementation of various levels into the Unity game engine. This was carried out using pre-existing art assets, which I successfully incorporated. My duties also extended to the creation of prefabs, meticulously labelling them for future use by other designers.
Moreover, I was responsible for the overall organization of the game scene. This was done with the objective of facilitating easy navigation for all team members who would interact with the scene at a later stage.
In an effort to optimize the game's processing power and enhance modularity, I crafted backgrounds using Adobe Photoshop. I ensured these were tiled, which while efficient, presented its own set of challenges. A significant one being that each tile required individual placement by hand once exported from Photoshop.
